Talent without discipline is like an octopus on roller skates. There's plenty of movement, but you never know if it's going to be forward, backwards, or sideways.” - H. Jackson Brown, Jr

Free Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas Classes
Every Monday from 17.00- 18.00pm
Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas classes are conducted with the main objective of initiating the child into a course of character building by developing self-discipline, providing healthy association inculcating habits of reading, studying, reciting as will sublimate the child's growing mind and by establishing the child  in paap Bheeti, Daiva Preeti and Sangha Neeti.

As a matter of fact, this course commences with small children (Group-I) between 5 & 7 years of age, but these classes are more on a kindergarten line for creating a true and genuine interest in the child's mind for the collective discipline and instruction that is to follow when the child moves on to group II between the age (7-10).  It is, thererfore, at the group II stage that the child start imbibing the benefits of the training which form the objective of Bal Vikas course.  The child enters group III (11-13) course at the age of 11, i.e. before the good Sanskaras or innate propensities are stifled by adverse influences at home, in school and on the playground.  During 3 to 4 years of this training he/she is expected to have derived the following benefits from -

• Having due respect for parents and other elders at home.
• Pay due attention to school studies and proper respect to school teachers.
• Show good physical orderliness in respect of dress, behaviour at school and society etc.

• Develope self-confidence.
• Develope good manners, humality etc.
• Develop good moral character.
• Make good use of time.
• Have spirit of service for those who need help.
• Have love for God (The supreme power) who expects us to be truthful, honest, good, loving, kind & helpful.
• Learn traits of holistic living.

Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas programme is a flagship programme of our organization and is the only “initiation” that every child must undertake in order to embark upon the journey to realize his/her own divinity.  Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas has a great role to perform in initiating the children on this universal, spiritual and secular journey of true education.

Swami explained  the need of Bal Vikas programme in the following words –
“The ideal of the Bal Vikas  is to raise a generation of boys and girls who have a clean and clear conscience.  The actual syllabus is not to so important as the creation of an atmosphere where noble habits and ideals can grow and fructify.  The Bal Vikas pupils follow Bal Vikas discipline and curriculum only for one day in the week and attend their usual schools on the other days.  So the impact of the Gurus has got to be extra strong if it has to act as a catalyst in the process of modification of the behaviour patterns of these pupils. What has happened today is the disappearance of the rishi from the rishikul (abode of sage), so that it has become the miserable 'shkul' or school !”
